Laura Alcazar Prada was born in Bogota, Colombia in February of 1998. She studies Human Biology and Studio Art at the University of Toronto, and projects to graduate the spring of 2020. Of the many mediums she has explored, due to her university’s variety of mediums they offer for students; she primarily uses 2-D mediums like drawing, painting and photographs for her art. However, she never shies away from other skills that her studies have thought her.
Alcazar Prada was going to be featured in the AA 3rd floor painting class showing (2018). The Annual juried Student Art exhibition (2019). Art and Activism showing “Write your stereotype here” (2019). The Annual Cedar Ridge Exhibition at the Doris McCarthy Gallery (Winter, 2020), however due to Covid-19 the exhibition never took place. Student Exhibition (Fall, 2020), The CoVelective end of the year Exhibition (2020). Telepathy: on Repeat, exhibition at the Gallery 1265 (Nov 30th, 2020 to Feb 25th, 2021).
She is proud of being part of solidARiTy exhibition, showcasing to artwork that depict personal concepts in her life.
Laura Alcazar Prada loves experimenting with materials, and art forms like sawing, dancing, and her other passion of science. She one day hope to be able to use her creativity within the scientific world.
